IPv6 Training
Introduction
IPv6 has been talked about for a long time, and many people
believe that the IPv4 address exhaustion has just been
"crying wolf" for at least the last 10 years. However,
the current data predicts that we will have no more IPv4
addresses to hand-out within approximately two years.
We also know that deploying new technology in networks takes a lot of
time and effort. We need to prepare systems and train staff to
handle new technology. Doing this once we have run out of IPv4
space is to late, and therefor many operators and enterprises
are starting to prepare for the launch of IPv6.
The Internet Technology Advisors IPv6 training is lead by
Kurt Erik Lindqvist. With over 10 years of experience in
networking and service provider operations he has unique
understanding of the challenges in deploying new technologies
in both an enterprise as well as service provider scenario.
Mr Lindqivst has also been very active in developing IPv6
standards in the IETF where he has also
has chaired many of the IPv6 related working-groups.
The training
In the training you will mix theory and practical lab excercises. You will
learn the differences between IPv4 and IPv6, you will learn about what mechanisms
exists to help you do the transition, routing protocols, operating systems and most
common software. You will also get to do practical excercises on deploying IPv6 in our
lab network.
